A Force Sensor is a transducer that converts mechanical load into mV signal proportional to the applied force.The acting force causes deformation of the measuring element,the bonded strain gage deforms accordingly which will cause the resistance change of the wheatstone bridge,under constant power supply, the output signal between Sig+ and Sig- will change proportionally,thus the load/force can be measured by measuring the output signal from the transducer.
Output signal of load cell and amplifier:
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of Flanged Thrust Transducer FFG is normally around 2.0mV/V.
Power supply of Flange Type Thrust Sensor FFG is normally within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of Thrust Force Load Cell FFG is normally within 0…+30mV.
Example one: Thrust Force Transducer FFG-5kg with 2.0mV/V sensitivity powered by 10V DC,the output range is 0...+20mV.
Example two: Thrust Load Cell FFG-2kg with 2.0mV/V rated output powered by 5V DC,the output range is 0...+10mV.
The mV/V output from the wheatstone bridge sometimes can hardly be processed directly, a signal conditioner can be used with the load cell to deliver -5~5V, 0-10V or 4-20mA output.
Example one: Flange Type Thrust Load Cell FFG-50kg working with amplifier FSC(0-10V)-24V,the Load-Voltage relationship will be 0-50kg thrust force VS 0-10V output, which is linear regardless of the measurement error, 0V output corresponds to “0” load, 1V output corresponds to 5kgf thrust load, 2V output corresponds to 10kgf thrust load, and so on.
Example two: Flanged Thrust Load Cell FFG-20kg working with amplifier FSC(4-20mA)-24V,the Force-Current relationship will be 0-20kgf thrust force VS 4-20mA output, which is linear regardless of the measurement error, 4mA output corresponds to “0” load, 5.6mA output corresponds to 2kgf thrust load, 7.2mA output corresponds to 4kgf thrust load, and so on.
Flanged Thrust Load Cell FFG can also work with digital indicator FPT to deliver below functions:
