Miniature Flanged Load Cell FFP is made of stainless steel utilizing strain gauge technology to deliver mV/V output from the full wheatstone bridge. Flange Type Force Sensor FFP offers 0-200N / 0-500N / 0-1kN / 0-2kN / 0-5kN / 0-10kN / 0-20kN seven rated measuring ranges to choose from, Column type force transducer FFP is designed for compression force measurement with flange-to-flange configuration. Flange Mounted Force Sensor is suitable for applications such as automated control process, cylinder thrust measurement, assembly force monitoring, bearing press fit measurement , ultrasonic welding clamping force control, hand press force verification,and so on. In addition to the standard specifications, Forsentek is also capable of and willing to provide load cell custom design service to meet requirements of different applications.

A Force Sensor is a transducer that converts mechanical load into mV signal proportional to the applied force.The acting force causes deformation of the measuring element,the bonded strain gage deforms accordingly which will cause the resistance change of the wheatstone bridge,under constant power supply, the output signal between Sig+ and Sig- will change proportionally,thus the load/force can be measured by measuring the output signal from the transducer.
Output signal of load cell and amplifier:
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output of Flange Mounted Load Cell FFP is normally around 1.5mV/V.
Power supply of Flange Type Load cell FFP is normally within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of Compression Type Force Sensor FFP is normally within 0…+22.5mV.
Example one: Flanged Force Transducer FFP-2kN with 1.5mV/V sensitivity powered by 5V DC,the output range is 0mV...+7.5mV.
Example two: Flange Type Force Sensor FFP-500N with 1.5mV/V rated output powered by 10V DC,the output range is 0mV...+15mV.
The mV/V output from the wheatstone bridge sometimes can hardly be processed directly, a signal conditioner can be used with the load cell to deliver -5~5V, 0-10V or 4-20mA output.
Example one: Flange Type Compression Load Cell FFP-1kN working with amplifier FSC(0-10V)-24V,the Load-Voltage relationship will be 0-1000N compression force VS 0-10V output, which is linear regardless of the measurement error, 1V output corresponds to 100N compression load, 2V output corresponds to 200N compression load, and so on.
Example two: Miniature Column Type Force Sensor FFP-2kN working with amplifier FSC(4-20mA)-24V,the Force-Current relationship will be 0-2000N compression force VS 4-20mA output, which is linear regardless of the measurement error, 4mA output corresponds to “0” load, 5.6mA output corresponds to 200N compression load, 12mA output corresponds to 1000N compression load, and so on.
