A torque sensor is a transducer that converts a torsional mechanial input into an electrical output signal. Torque transducer can be devided into two types:rotary torque sensor and reaction torque sensor depending on the torque it's going to measure.Rotary torque sensors are able to measure both rotating torque and non-rotating torque while reaction torque transducers can only measure non-rotating torque or torque with small rotating angle.

Torque sensor zero output:The output signal of the transducer with no-load applied,expressed in mV/V or as a percentage of rated output.The zero output is caused by the stress during strain gauge bonding,it can be handled during calibration or signal processing without affecting the measurement accuracy.

Torque cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output is normally within 1mV/V~3mV/V.
Power supply is normally within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the torque transducer output signal is normally within -45mV...+45mV.
Example one: 2.0mV/V torque sensor with 10V power supply,the output range is -20mV...+20mV.
Example two: 1.0mV/V torque transducer with 5V power supply,the output range is -5mV...+5mV.

Torque meter + Signal amplifier:
Torque sensor normally outputs -30mV...+30mV which sometimes cannot be recognized by signal processing units directly,so signal conditioner is introduced to convert mV signal into 0-5V/0-10V/4-20mA for easy signal processing.
Example: Torque meter FTG-200NM working with amplifier FSC(-10-10V)-24V,the transducer and amplifier will be pre-calibrated with clockwise 0-200NM VS 0-10V output,CCW 0-200NM VS 0-(-10V).The torque-voltage is linear within the error range.

Torque sensor+ Digital indicator
Digital indicator can work directly with torque transducer without signal amplifier,here are some functions from the indicator:
-Display force value in real time
-Peak holding to grab the maximum force during testing
-RS485 or RS232 interface
-0-5V/0-10V/4-20mA analog output
-Switch output
