A Force Sensor is a transducer that converts mechanical load into mV signal proportional to the applied force.The acting force causes deformation of the measuring element,the bonded strain gage deforms accordingly which will cause the resistance change of the wheatstone bridge,under constant power supply, the output signal between Sig+ and Sig- will change proportionally,thus the load/force can be measured by measuring the output signal from the transducer.
Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output force sensor FFG is around 2.0mV/V.
Power supply is normally within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the output range of force transducer FFG is normally within -30mV...+30mV for tension/compression force measurement.
Example one:Column load cell FFG-50N with 2.0mV/V sensitivity powered by 5V DC,the output range is -10mV...+10mV.
Example two: Cylinder type force sensor FFG-100N with 2.0mV/V sensitivity powered by 10V DC,the output range is -20mV...+20mV.
A signal conditioner can be used with the load cell to deliver -5~5V, 0-10V or 4-20mA output.
Example: Column type tension compression load cell FFG-200N working with -10-10V amplifier,the Force-Voltage relationship will be 0-200N compression load VS 0-10V output,0-200N tension load VS 0-(-10V) output,when you get 5V output,it means the current load is 100N compression force,when you get -1V output,it means the current load is 20N tension force,and so on.
