Load cell output: = (Power supply * Rated output) * Load / Capacity
Rated output is normally within 1mV/V~3mV/V.
Power supply is normally within 3-15V.
Load / Capacity is within 0-1.
So the load cell output signal is normally within 0-45mV(-45mV...+45mV for bidirectional load cell).
Example one: FFG-2kN with 2.0mV/V sensitivity powered by 3.3V DC,the output range is -6.6mV...+6.6mV.
Example two: FFG-1kN with 2.0mV/V sensitivity powered by 5V DC,the output range is -10mV...+10mV.
Load cell + Signal amplifier:
Load cell normally outputs -30mV...+30mV which sometimes cannot be recognized by signal processing units directly,so signal conditioner is introduced to convert mV signal into 0-5V/0-10V/4-20mA for easy signal processing.
Example: FFG-500N working with -5-5V amplifier,the load-output relationship will be 0~500N compression load VS 0~5V output,0~500N tension load VS 0~(-5V) output,which is linear within the error range.
Load cell + Digital indicator
Digital indicator can work directly with load cell without signal amplifier,here are some functions from the indicator:
-Display force value in real time
-Peak holding to grab the maximum force during testing
-RS485 or RS232 interface
-0-5V/0-10V/4-20mA analog output
-Switch output
